In response to multiple requests, Fondation Émergence has re-issued two posters that were a huge success and which were re-edited for the fight against homophobia campaigns from 2003 and from 2007. They are Shocking? For who?, which shows two hockey players about to kiss each other, and Sexual Orientation is Not a Choice, which features the photo of a baby wearing a bracelet that reads “Homosex…”. These two posters are being offered once more and in English and in French.
Please be reminded that the hockey players poster had been designed for the 2003 launch of the theme-day dedicated to the fight against homophobia. This day subsequently became the International Day Against Homophobia. As for the 2007 Campaign poster “Homosexuality is Not a Choice”, it was adopted by an Italian organisation as their own and caused a stir in Italy (See article in Fugues - french).
Institutions and organisations that wish to make these posters available to clients can order them free of charge from Fondation Émergence.
Fondation Émergence has recently announced that the 2010 Campaign for the International Day Against Homophobia will focus on the sports world. The purpose of this campaign is to make athletes, those closely or loosely involved in this field, the media, and the general population aware of the need to combat homophobia in the sports world on both the amateur and professional levels. The material for 2010, which includes posters and brochures, will be available next January.
